Perfectly Preppy....Thanksgiving Wear

Around the holidays you see your friends, family, maybe some ex’s along the way; therefore, looking your best is a must! Thanksgiving is not just a day, but a long weekend and the wear is an extremely important. In this short, exciting holiday, there are many options from day to night you must pack accordingly. Although, your suitcase cannot be too heavy for your travels, so I created a small guide to help you prioritize. There are two main focus areas while deciding what to bring: Thanksgiving eve and Thanksgiving Day. These are your top priorities (but don’t forget the occasional lunch with friends when packing!)

Thanksgiving eve (aka one of the biggest bar nights of the year) is widely anticipated. Everyone is back in their hometown to be with family and of course going to the local bars is a must – hence, you will run into every single person you ever knew in high school.  Even if you are being daring and trying new bars and a new scene you'll run into someone you know! So either way looking fabulous is a must. Deciding what to wear is essential while packing for these holidays. Polka Dots are huge this year and it can add a fun pep to your outfit, if you don’t have them already it’s a must! The highlighted polka dot blouse can be re-matched and worn again and again. For a night out on thanksgiving eve you can go casual in this blouse, or spice it up! Match the blouse with a pair of jeans, leggings, or mini pants for a more causal look – boots or heels are appropriate with all. Spice it up by tucking the blouse into a high wasted or mini skirt with a colored heals to add more zest to look.

Thanksgiving Day is extremely important while seeing family and close friend – dressing your best after a night out may not be so hard after all! Remember those oversized sweaters that are so in style? Well this is a perfect occasion to take them out! The Cambridge oversized sweater that is highlighted can be matched with a plethora of bottoms from leggings to skirts. On Thanksgiving Day match this sweater with some comfy cords and flats. Eat to the extreme and don’t worry about “looking full” in your outfit because no one will be able to tell. This look gives the perfect balance between laid back and chic – just remember the pants and shoes are important when deciding how laid back you want to look!
